Curriculum Overview

International School of Madagascar uses the Pearson Edexcel iPrimary and iLower Secondary Curriculum which is a complete programme for use in International Schools for English, Mathematics, Science, Computing and Global Citizenship, for children aged 3 to 11 in Primary years and ages 11-14 in Lower Secondary School.
The Curriculum is based on the latest English National Curriculum (2014), with an international approach, the programme is written with learners of English as an additional language (EAL) in mind. We draw our students in with an internationally focused curriculum and ensure knowledge sticks with accessible and culturally relevant examples and resources.

The fully mapped internationally renowned resources from Pearson Edexcel supports our school all the way from planning to teaching and learning, and through to assessment.  The resources for iPrimary and iLowerSecondary allows ISM to teach with the peace of mind that we have all we need. The carefully selected resources have been written with learners of English as an additional language (EAL) in mind.

iPrimary is part of iProgress, a complete series for 5 to 19 year-olds in international schools. The iProgress family includes iPrimary, iLowerSecondary, International GCSE (IG), GCSE, International Advanced level (IAL), and GCE A level, and delivers a consistent learning journey for students and teachers.
As the UK’s largest awarding organisation, Pearson Edexcel is best placed to provide qualifications that are recognised as being most closely aligned to the British educational system.
iPrimary prepares students to progress to the iLowerSecondary programme from age 11, which is specifically designed to prepare students for International GCSE. This build the foundations for future success and steer students towards success with a curriculum that builds on their learning at every stage.
